About RecallBite

A clearer route from a food label to the official notice.

RecallBite is an independently operated food recall information service for US and UK audiences.

01

Founder and accountability

Trevor Merrison founded RecallBite after hearing the tail end of a news report about a sausage recall and wondering whether he had the product in his fridge. He found it harder than expected to trace the report to the exact official notice and check whether his sausages were affected. That experience shaped RecallBite’s purpose: making official food recall information easier to find, understand and act on. Trevor directs RecallBite’s public-information approach and correction route. He is not a regulator, healthcare provider or food-safety authority. He is a keen advocate for making reliable public information easier to find and use.

02

Our purpose

Government agencies remain the authorities. RecallBite makes records easier to search, organises product details and keeps direct official links.

03

Human direction and AI support

Trevor is an early adopter of AI and uses AI agents to help RecallBite research sources, organise information and prepare drafts so the site can provide more practical public utility. All published items are produced under human direction. AI agents do not replace official sources or make personal safety decisions. Before a Food at Home guide goes live, material claims are checked against the final linked primary sources.

04

Editorial standard

Official sources remain decisive. RecallBite adds clear routes to the source, plain-language context and practical explanations without deciding whether a person’s product is affected.

05

Business model

No live advertising is active. If advertising is added later, it will remain separate from product identification, consumer action and official-source links.

06

Corrections and contact

Questions, corrections, privacy matters and accessibility feedback can be sent through the Contact page. RecallBite currently uses email as its public contact route.
